Visiting

Visa-free for up to 30 days. Travel on a passport valid for your whole stay, with a return or onward ticket and proof you can support yourself.

Passport validity:Passport generally needs to be valid for the duration of stay (many carriers and consulates expect 6 months); at least one blank page is required.

At the border:Proof of yellow fever vaccination is required, plus a visa or eVisa where applicable (some nationalities enter visa-free for up to 30 days), and you may be asked for onward travel and accommodation details.

Working remotely

No dedicated nomad visa; the usual route is a standard residence permit.

Tax and residency

You are generally treated as resident if you keep a habitual home in Angola on 31 December or spend more than 90 days (consecutive or not) in the fiscal year; personal income tax is largely territorial, so only Angola-source income is normally taxed.(estimate)

The UK decides residence with its Statutory Residence Test (days in the UK plus your ties). As a non-resident you are usually taxed only on UK income; where one exists, a double-tax treaty with the destination decides who taxes what.

Practical

Currency:AOA. Cost of living:high.

Healthcare:Public healthcare is limited, so foreigners typically rely on private clinics in Luanda and comprehensive international insurance with medical evacuation cover.

Driving:An International Driving Permit alongside your home licence is recommended for short stays, while long-term residents are expected to obtain a local licence.
