Visiting

Visa-free for up to short stays. Travel on a passport valid for your whole stay, with a return or onward ticket and proof you can support yourself.

Passport validity:Passport valid for at least 6 months on entry.

At the border:Submit the SG Arrival Card with health declaration within 3 days before arrival; many nationalities enter visa-free for 30 to 90 days.

Working remotely

No dedicated nomad visa; the usual route is a standard residence permit.

Tax and residency

You are generally treated as a tax resident if you stay or work in Singapore for at least 183 days in a calendar year, and most foreign-sourced income received by individuals is not taxed.(estimate)

The UK decides residence with its Statutory Residence Test (days in the UK plus your ties). As a non-resident you are usually taxed only on UK income; where one exists, a double-tax treaty with the destination decides who taxes what.

Practical

Currency:SGD. Cost of living:high.

Healthcare:Foreigners are not covered by public schemes like MediShield Life and pay unsubsidised rates, so private or employer health insurance is essentially required.

Driving:You may drive on a valid foreign licence for up to 12 months, but carry an International Driving Permit or certified English translation if your licence is not in English.
